This geometry represents an artery with stents. CENTAUR improved the original STL triangulation of the surface, which facilitated subsequent generation of the volume mesh. The use of semi-structured prismatic elements in the near surface region allows for increased accuracy of the hemodynamic simulation. The use of tetrahedra elsewhere allows for flexibility in generating the grid for this complex geometry domain.
